We have done the following to this motor, we changed the oils and pressure and vacuum tested the lower unit, changed the water pump impeller, performed a leakdown test and all the cylinders were less than 3%. Ran and checked over the engine. The leakdown test is more accurate than a compression test, it has a gauge and you put air pressure in the spark plug hole and measure the percentage of air leaking past the piston and rings by rotating the flywheel. On this test 0% is the best 100% the worst, typically over 10-15% shows signs of wear and anything over 20% will start having a running issu
